MERCOM India: India was the Second Largest Solar Market in first nine Months of 2018 competing with China & US
According to latest report from MERCOM India, Solar installation in India came second in the world for installation of solar capacity addition during first nine months of 2018. India competed with China and US for this capacity addition. If we talk in terms of capacity, China added 34.5 GW of solar PV capacity in first nine months according to report of National Energy Administration. India installed 6.6 GW during the same period and United States has added 6.5 GW of capacity during this period. These top three global solar market leaders have added combined capacity addition of 48 GW solar PV in first nine months of 2018.
At the end of 2018, India has been projected to be the third largest solar market in the world behind China and the U.S. based on current forecasts.
