In a very short span of time after founding Medhaj he has received several recognitions and accolades for various contribution in the sector of Power and Infrastructure. He has been awarded “Udyog Ratna Award” by Institute of Economic Studies and also “IBN 7 Entrepreneur of the year” award for 2012 for his contribution in Energy sector. Rural Electrification : Samir hails from a humble background and he had always dreamt of a robust infrastructure for the country so that quality of life of every Indian improves to a certain level. While he was pursuing his global career, the dream of electrifying India to the last habitation was beginning to take shape in the form of RGGVY. He decided to come back to India to pursue his dream of contributing to Rural Electrification by starting a company “Medhaj Techno Concept Pvt Limited” in 2007. Medhaj is helping to identify villages and habitations across India in more than 21+ states to achieve their ambition of 100% electrification. Medhaj's 500+ engineers have surveyed about 300,000 villages and habitations in the last 6 years to support government's efforts of electrification. He has worked with/written for nearly all major Indian newspapers/journals like Times of India, Outlook, Hindustan Times, Indian Express, and Economic and Political Weekly (EPW).
